  • Change can be initiated in any one sphere
  • For change efforts to be successful, they must complement and support processes in all 3 so that they work in harmony

Why it’s important:

Quite simply, 70% of organisation change efforts fail (McKinsey)

The Model of Integration suggests that managing change is about managing the complex interactions between the three spheres.  Managing change effectively, requires that you take a critical view of the organisation and take account of the impact of change in one sphere on the others.

In the UK, 57% employees report not being given clear directions.

Worldwide, only about half of employees strongly agree that they know what is expected of them at work (Gallup).  Employees can’t meet performance goals when they don’t know exactly what’s expected of them.

75% of workers who voluntarily leave their jobs do so because of their boss (Gallup).

People leave managers not companies.  In spite of how good a job may be, people will quit if the reporting relationship is not healthy.

And not that song played at weddings!  With all that goes on in life, it is common simply to move on to the next thing on the ‘to do’ list. The achievement of milestones, a new job, the completion of a major project gets taken for granted. We believe in punctuation, not just commas and full stops, but marking the completion of events, registering what has happened and closing the circle with a celebration. We believe in the importance of enjoying the journey.
